Samordna opptak (NUCAS)
The Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service (NUCAS) coordinates the admission to regular undergraduate studies at all the universities, university colleges, state colleges, and some private colleges in Norway.

Quality Assurance
Nasjonalt organ for kvalitet i utdanningen (NOKUT)
NOKUT is the controlling authority for educational activity at all Norwegian universities, special field universities, university colleges and institutions with single accredited higher education programmes; as well as for all tertiary vocational education.
NOKUT evaluates also the quality assurance system at each institution.

Post-secondary Non-university Education
Tertiary vocational study programmes build on qualifications from secondary education (or corresponding prior learning) but are not classified as higher education. NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) issues formal recognition for such programmes.

Recognized Higher Education Institutions
Database with the accredited higher education institutions in Norway. An accredited higher education institution is granted the right to offer educational provision, without having to apply to NOKUT for specific (programme) accreditation, in accordance with the powers that its institutional category implies.
University Colleges that are not accredited institutions must apply to NOKUT for accreditation of study programmes at all levels, see the list in the link under.

Policies and Procedures for the Recognition of Foreign Qualifications
NOKUT (Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) is a government agency which among other approves foreign higher education. This approval is a general recognition that shows how the foreign education is comparable to Norwegian higher education.

Information Centre for the Recognition Systems of Foreign Qualifications (INVIA) at NOKUT
INVIA is a national information centre that provides information about the Norwegian authorisation and recognition systems. INVIA is also the EU point of contact for recognition of professional qualifications for professions regulated by law in Norway, covered by Directive 2005/36/EC.
