Francophonie
The AUF is a multilateral institution which supports
cooperation and solidarity among university institutions working in French,
particularly in francophone countries in Africa, the Arab world, South-East
Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. It also contributes to the
development of higher education and research. The site provides information on
their priorities and programs, as well as contacts for all 432 of their
members.
Association of Commonwealth
Universities
The ACU is involved in assisting its members in developing
their human resources’ capacity, in promoting the mobility of academic and
administrative staff and students among Commonwealth countries, and in providing
information about universities and about issues of relevance to them. Its
membership is comprised of universities in Commonwealth countries, and the site
provides information on the ACU’s various publications, which include a
comprehensive yearbook of Commonwealth universities.

Learning
The Commonwealth of Learning is committed to assisting
Commonwealth member governments to take full advantage of open, distance and
technology-mediated learning strategies to provide increased and equitable
access to education and training for all their citizens. The site provides
information on training resources, databases, services, etc.
International Association
of Universities
This site helps member institutions and organisations to
achieve their common goals, through international co-operation worldwide and
with due respect to their respective identity, diversity and contribution. It
provides information on relevent meetings and publications in the field of
higher education, and other resources in this field.

Higher Education Database
(WHED)
This is a resource providing information on higher education
systems and institutions in 180 countries and territories
worldwide.
International Union of Students (IUS)
The IUS is an international student organization
comprising student unions in 114 countries, and is active in the fight for equal
access to education, as well as other issues important to global youth. The site
provides information on this organization’s activities as well as on its member
unions.
Organisation for Economic
Co-operation and Development (OECD)
The OECD aims to help governments “tackle the
economic, social and governance challenges of a globalised economy”. Its
education pages provide information on the performance of education systems in
member countries, as well as research and activities related to
education.
UNESCO
UNESCO is the
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Its main
objective is to contribute to peace and security in the world by promoting
collaboration among nations through education, science, culture and
communication in order to further universal respect for justice, for the rule of
law and for the human rights and fundamental freedoms which are affirmed for the
peoples of the world, by the Charter of the United Nations.
Portal on Higher Education Institutions
This portal offers access to on-line information on higher education institutions
recognized or otherwise sanctioned by competent authorities in participating countries.
It provides students, employers and other interested parties with access to authoritative
and up-to-date information on the status of higher education institutions and quality assurance
in these countries.
Study Abroad
The UNESCO Study Abroad page provides
valuable information related to mobility in education, including a guide to
understanding the various legal frameworks and conventions, as well as an
on-line guide to study opportunities and fellowships offered in countries
around the world.
