Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the Republic of San Marino offer the following accredited degrees:
• Laurea: First cycle. Workload of 180 ECTS credits – 3 years – level 6A of the Quadro Sammarinese delle qualifiche (QSQ) – level 6 of the EQF.
• Master Universitario di primo livello: Requires possession of a Laurea. Minimum workload of 60 ECTS credits – minimum 1 year – level 6B of the Quadro Sammarinese delle qualifiche (QSQ) – level 6 of the EQF.
• Laurea Magistrale: Second cycle. Workload of 120 ECTS credits – 2 years – level 7A of the Quadro Sammarinese delle qualifiche (QSQ) – level 7 of the EQF.
• Master Universitario di secondo livello: Requires possession of a Laurea Magistrale. Minimum workload of 60 ECTS credits – minimum 1 year – level 7B of the Quadro Sammarinese delle qualifiche (QSQ) – level 7 of the EQF.
• Dottorato: Third cycle. Workload of 3 years – level 8 of the Quadro Sammarinese delle qualifiche (QSQ) – level 8 of the EQF.
HEIs in the Republic of San Marino may also offer specialisation and professional development programs (Life Long Learning).

Academic Recognition for Refugees
In the assessment of refugee qualifications, San Marino adheres strictly to the provisions outlined in Article VII of the Lisbon Recognition Convention (LRC) and its accompanying guidelines.

Furthermore, in instances where documentary evidence is insufficient to facilitate recognition through standard administrative procedures, San Marino participates in the Council of Europe’s Equivalency of Qualifications for Persons with Refugee Status (EQPR)
